The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding production facilities abroad, and doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. Toto believed that North America as a growth market for Washlet bidets and toilets, as opposed to its "base" markets of Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto recorded Toto words to ensure that the future generation could be able to read them. Many words were replaced with foreign words. For instance dui, which was Bengali for verandah, was being used.
Origins
The early history of Toto that began in 1917, mirrored Japan's economic growth. In the first half of 1917, Toto manufactured products to meet the growing demand for modern, new urban housing. It used the first tunnel kiln in the nation to produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered the use of automation for production control, allowing greater efficiency and a more consistent production.
The company began expanding its operations overseas in the late 1980s in order to take advantage of new markets and sales opportunities. It established the Cera Trading Company, importing and marketing other products of manufacturers to complement its own lines of sanitary earthenware and plumbing fittings. This strategy helped increase sales and expand the firm’s global market share.
In the 90s, Toto began focusing on research and development of water-related appliances. It also upgraded its distribution system to better serve the needs of its customers and to increase profits. The company used the same just-in-time approach to its supply chain management and sales program. This resulted in a greater level of customer satisfaction.
Toto has been able to continue to innovate on the toilet technology. The most recent toilet features an environmentally friendly, powerful tornado flush. The company uses recycled water for its manufacturing process and also has a green purchasing policy. In addition to toilets, Toto manufactures faucets and bathtubs, as well as hand dryers that are more efficient in terms of energy consumption than standard models.
The first Toto museum opened in the year 2015. It hosts exhibits on the most iconic products of Toto and their evolution, the group companies (all of which are ceramics) as well as the history of plumbing, and other products like bath units. In another gallery, visitors will find Toto products sold all over. The museum even includes a bathroom with a WASHLET toilet as well as other toilet-related innovations.
Before beginning the formation of Toto members of the group did sessions for a variety of musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also played on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
You would expect a group with a name like Asia to be a prog rock band however, it's actually a fairly straight forward rock outfit. The band was initially four members and released two albums that were self-titled in 1979 and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The group has a diverse musical background, but their biggest success was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a massive blockbuster but not without its issues. The record companies placed Toto under pressure to release an album that was a success or they would rescind them. Toto was able to do this with the help from the hit song "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is a result of their prior experience in the music industry, as the band members had been session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior the group. Their distinctive sound has become the norm for '80s pop, and has influenced many modern artists.
The album begins with a hefty dose of hard rock with songs like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write fantastic AOR songs that slowly work their hooks into you. The album also includes some more jazzy, slower tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album concludes with Great Expectations, a song which combines folk and distortion AOR and could sound like a complete flop, but is incredibly effective.
After Toto IV, the band's fortunes turned to the downside. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career and the band had to go through several drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the group due to drug charges. The band continued to play with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Despite the turmoil, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation, which was not as successful as IV. The band was able to release a chart-topping album, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was the first album to feature the new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up
The band's third album, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet arrangement of the previous albums. It was a more ferocious, consistent effort with an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. The more edgier sound of Turn Back reflected the maturation in the group. The drummer Bobby Kimball's increasing proficiency was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard playing was also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on earlier efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live performance in Amsterdam which was released as a two-CD set entitled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The group released their new studio album just a few months after and then embarked on a world tour help promote the album. In this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started exploring old demos and tapes in search of a new album featuring songs that had never been recorded before. The album was released in 2001 and released as a double album titled Then & Now. It was the first album by the band without the single track "A". The album also contained a previously unreleased track "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. 토지노 커뮤니티 , Old Is New, was a commercial failure, and vocalist Williams was suffering from a severe laryngitis infection which hampered his singing. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming was replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia, met in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be revived. The lineup, with the exception of Howe who was working with Yes at the time, became Toto XIV. They toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also featured the appearance of singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
